The high-quality resources gathered in the world's largest small commodity market have formed the unique advantages of Yiwu's exhibition industry. The Yiwu market covers an area of 6.5 million square meters, with more than 75,000 booths and shops, gathering 2.1million kinds of commodities in 26 major categories, and it has established economic ties with 219 countries and regions across the globe. Yiwu is called “the world's largest small commodity wholesale market” by the United Nations, the World Bank, Morgan Stanley and other world authoritative organizations. Yiwu is building a new import market that connects “domestic and overseas markets”, shifting from export and whole sale to import-export, online-offline, domestic-overseas integration, and providing “one-stop” services for overseas products to enter China through Yiwu. The China Import Commodity City Incubation Zone operates about 150,000 commodities from over 100 countries and regions, and is committed to building an omni-channel Chinese import commodity trading center. The eWTP Yiwu Global Innovation Center-Rwanda Digital Trade Hub and Ethiopian Digital Trade Hub have been launched.The cross-border export model integrates “offline market procurement+online cross-border e-commerce” to build a high-speed channel for small-volume online trade exports. In 2022, Yiwu raked in 292.873 billion yuan in e-commerce transaction, a year-on-year growth of 7.62%.
