Since the 1930s, Lingnan potted plants have made full use of the advantages of favorable weather and geography to vigorously develop their own style. Lingnan potted plants have gradually formed their own style, and in the 1950s, a group of outstanding potted landscape artists such as Kong Taichu, Mo Minfu, Ye Enfu, and others emerged, playing a leading role in forming Lingnan characteristic potted landscape styles, The unique artistic style of Lingnan bonsai is to make it "vigorous and majestic, natural and unrestrained".

清末民初--个别村民获悉了盆景的上级，开始上山挖树桩和制作“盆景出售”。解放后，农村实行土地改革，村民分得田地，以务农为生，加之盆景市场需求不大，盆景产业发展暂时中断。
In the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, some villagers learned about the superiors of bonsai and began to dig tree stumps and produce "bonsai for sale" on the mountain. After the liberation, rural areas implemented land reform, where villagers were given land and relied on farming for a living. In addition, the demand for bonsai in the market was not high, and the development of the bonsai industry was temporarily interrupted.
改革开放初期--瑞岭人从新开始四处采集苗木和各种树桩头，揭开盆景业崭新的一幕。1986年英国女王访华，时任广东省长把一盆九里香盆景送给她作为祝福，岭南盆景自始声名远播。
In the early stages of reform and opening up, the people of Ruiling began collecting seedlings and various tree stumps from all over the country, unveiling a new era in the bonsai industry. In 1986, when the Queen of England visited China, the governor of Guangdong Province gave her a potted plant of nine lilies as a blessing, and Lingnan bonsai became famous from then on.
1999年5月--村民姚尧培植九里香盆景，以42万的价钱卖给中山市一位客户，创下当时本村“盆景之乡”单株盆景售价最高纪录。
In May 1999, villager Yao Yao cultivated a nine mile fragrant bonsai and sold it to a customer in Zhongshan City for 420000 yuan, setting a record for the highest selling price of a single bonsai in the village's "hometown of bonsai" at that time.
2018年以来，在党的领导下瑞岭村开展扫黑除恶活动，清扫了黑社会性质组织，并随着村内制度的改革、群众路线的深化、发展思路的桂花，盆景特色产业逐渐发展起来。

2019年12月--广州瑞岭盆景农民专业合作社成立。

2020年12月--广州市花都区瑞岭村首届盆景艺术节暨花都区第一届“乡村工匠”岭南盆景技能大赛开幕。
